Press Release of “i-Future Weekend School” 2017-2019 Opening Ceremony
It is with our great pleasure to inform you that “i-Future Weekend School” 2017-2019 Opening Ceremony has been successfully held on 10th September 2017 at Ying Wa College, Shum Shui Po.  About 300 guests, international volunteers, parents, alumni and our 60 new students participated in the event. There were a number of touching and encouraging moments. All of our board members felt very touched by seeing so much support shown by many of the supporters including our Honorable Ambassador, our Dutch affiliate, IMC Weekend School, our school and corporate partners, over 200 international volunteers and returning alumni, students and their family members. They were happy for the new students and wished them a great start of their two-year personal development and self-discovery journeys.       The Ceremony started with a video with encouraging words from different supporters and stakeholders of i-Future Weekend School, including Mr. Charles Ying, i-Future Weekend School Honorable Ambassador, Mr. Allan Cheng, Principal of Ying Wa College, Ms. Joyce Cheng, recording artist & actress, Mr. Eric Kwok, music producer and composer, LIL’ Ashes, recording artists, Ms. Jade Lam, Hong Kong YouTuber, Mr. Kelvin Wu, Co-Chairman of Board of Directors of i-Future Weekend School, Ms. Lovelyn Padernal, international volunteer, Ms. Joanna Fong, our alumni and her parent. Over the video, they also invited more people to become “i-Future Weekend School” volunteers and guest teachers. With the joint efforts of all our supporters, we would be able to inspire more children to shine.   Mr. Charles Ying, famous recording artist & actor, was invited to become “i-Future Weekend School Honorable Ambassador”. As the Guest of Honor, he officiated the kick off ceremony with all the Board members, corporate and school partners, volunteer, guest teacher, parent, student and alumni representatives. They wished them to become more brave and confident and would be able to identify their own talents and dreams in the next two years. Mr. Ying also shared his experience in communicating with his children with the audience.     The Ceremony was ended with the sharing of our students from 2016-2018 cohort on their amazing learning journey in i-Future weekend School. Our Board members believed in the importance of widening the horizons of our students and alumni. 10 alumni and students have been awarded the winner of the 2017 annual signature programme, “Dream for the Future” in the Opening Ceremony. Each of them will have HK$5,000 to actualize their personal development plans to realize their dreams. Starting of the new Year 2 of 1618 cohort
The first semester of year two of i-Future Weekend School 2016-2018 cohort will start in September, 2017. We appreciate the learning motivation and enthusiasm of all students towards the program.   In the coming semester, we will have the following topics, including Environemental Protection, Astronomy, Medical, Law, Art & Music, Drama, Magic and Psychology.   
Year signature program -- Dream for the future
  Year signature program -- "Dream for the future"   To encourage our alumni and students in realizing their dreams, i-Future Weekend School launched a program, "Dream for the future". In this program, students and alumni are encouraged to explore their dreams and develop plans for realizing their dream. 10 participants will be provided $5000 in implementing their plan. 
Student recruitment 2017-2019
The student recruitment for 2017-2019 will be carried out from May to July 2017. 60 students will be invited to join our new cohort 2017-2019. Their new learning journey will start in September 2017.       
Starting of Second Semester
The second semester of i-Future Weekend School 2016-2018 cohort will start in February, 2017. We appreciate the learning motivation and enthusiasm of all students towards the program.   In the coming semester, we will have the following topics, including Aviation, Living Science, Hong Kong History and Cultural Heritage and Business.   
Family enhancement progarm -- Home visit
To strength network with parents, review students' achievement in the first semester of the program and set up learning goal for the coming lessons, the staff team arranges home visits to students from 2016-2018 cohort.
